Development of Web Site for Child Safety Education

Abstract

|
As increasing the natural and man-made disaster, safety measures are more important than before. Moreover, accidents became the most important cause of death in childhood. However, safety education program for children is not well developed in this country.
This study was performed for development of web site as a child safety education program.
We defined target population of this site by preschool child and early school child. The contents were developed by researchers who were faculty members of child health nursing. Technical supports such as graphic design, programming, multimedia developing were provided by out source company.
The site name and domain name, http://ccoma.redcross.ac.kr, were created by nursing student. The contents categories were consisted in Learning with mam and dad, I can learn by myself, I can do first aid, Teacher´s room, Q & A and Web board.
This site will be useful for person who wants to teach child safety education. We
hope it will be contributed to reduce accidents for children.
